Plot summary
Rusty, a young beagle, lives at the animal shelter run by Boyd and Edna Callahan together with his parents Malley and Cap, his newborn siblings and many other animals. Boyd and Edna are raising their grandchildren Jory and Tess, whose parents have died, and the children's older cousins Bart and Bertha Bimini continually press the claim that the grandparents cannot manage. Edna turns them down, knowing the pair are really after the trust fund. Bart and Bertha refuse to give up on adopting the siblings and getting the money. Rusty, eager to prove himself a loyal member of the family, picks up the Biminis' scent when they carry off the puppies and sets out to bring them back.
