Plot summary
Oscar is still a young boy when he kills Loux's abusive father while defending her and then runs away from their rural hometown, leaving his own best friend behind. He reaches the nearest city and is taken in by a band of child street thieves, where he gradually loses his innocence and comes into contact with love, murder, and corruption.
