Plot summary
Michael Connolly is 24 and has cerebral palsy. He has lived for years at the Carrigmore Residential Home for the Disabled, where Eileen is in charge. Rory O'Shea moves in. He has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and can move only his right hand. Michael is stunned that Rory understands his almost unintelligible speech. Rory is rebellious and fast talking. He introduces Michael to the wider world outside the home.
