Plot summary
Mike Davis earns his living as a hunting guide and finds diamonds at a mine in a remote part of South West Africa. The mine's police seize him, and Paul Vogel, who heads the diamond company's security, has him tortured, yet Davis keeps the location to himself. After a time away he comes back for the stones. Martingale, who owns the company, chooses guile over force and engages Suzanne Renaud, a prostitute, to draw the secret out of him. Vogel wants Suzanne for himself, while she is drawn to Davis, who cares more about the diamonds. Davis plans to enter the mining area illegally and reach Portuguese Angola.
