Plot summary
Romy White and Michele Weinberger want out of their square hometown of Tucson. The two best friends plan to move to Los Angeles, become rich and famous, and take their place among the beautiful, hip people there, but they put the trip off so they can save money. They graduate from high school in 1987, and three years later the money they have put aside comes to $68, just $8 more than they had at graduation. After they see Pretty Woman, the question is settled: even with so little saved, they go ahead, and Romy and Michele head for Los Angeles.
