Alexandra Billings

Alexandra Billings is an American actress, singer and teacher whose career began in Chicago theater and grew to take in television, concert and Broadway work. Raised in Illinois, she was drawn to the stage partly through her father, a music teacher who was also musical director of the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. Much of her professional stage work has been at Chicago venues including the Bailiwick Theater, Court Theatre and Steppenwolf Theatre, and she has received five After Dark Awards and a Joseph Jefferson Award for that work. She gained wider recognition as Davina in the Amazon series Transparent and appeared in its feature finale, Musicale Finale (2019). Her other screen credits include Romy and Michele: In the Beginning, The Conners and The Peripheral. She played Madame Morrible in Wicked on Broadway, and her 2023 film Queen Tut brought a Canadian Screen Award nomination. She has also taught theater, including at the University of Southern California.
