Biography
Born in Santo Domingo, Dania Ramirez is a Dominican actress who decided as a child to perform, reenacting telenovelas for her family. A modeling scout spotted her at 15 while she was working in a convenience store and offered her a small part in a soda commercial, and she later trained in New York City at the Actor's Workshop with Flo Greenberg. An extra role in the HBO film Subway Stories (1997) led to her meeting Spike Lee, who later cast her in She Hate Me (2004). Her film work includes Fat Albert (2004), Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), American Reunion (2012) and Premium Rush (2012). On television she played Blanca on The Sopranos, Maya Herrera on Heroes, Alex on Entourage, and Rosie Falta on Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016, and later starred as Cinderella on Once Upon a Time and as Captain Nikki Batista on Alert: Missing Persons Unit.
