Biography

Nathan Davis was an American actor who came to the profession late, taking it up in the late 1970s after working as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Born in Chicago, he had served in Europe during World War II and then performed on local stages and in radio productions. His television work included a 1975 appearance on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, and his screen roles took in Thief, Poltergeist III (1988) and Dunston Checks In (1996), as well as the grandfather in the Disney film Holes. He frequently worked with the director Andrew Davis, appearing in many of his films. He was nominated three times for Jeff Awards, in 1980 for Buried Child at the Northlight Theatre, for The Sunshine Boys at the National Jewish Theater, and in 2001 for 2 1/2 Jews at the Apple Tree Theatre.
