Plot summary
After a tour of duty in the Middle East, Kelli, an American reservist, returns to the midwestern rust-belt town where her husband Mike and their children live. She expects to step back into her old routines and the small comforts of home. Her friends and family have carried on without her, and the town she comes back to is not the one she remembers. Her ties to the people around her suffer, and her children need an attention she cannot give. At the factory where she works, the job she once held no longer fits her, and she leaves it.
