Plot summary
Remy and his lifelong friend Jake work as repo men for The Union, the corporation that sells bio-mechanical organs on credit and reclaims them by force when a customer stops paying. Raiding a nest of debtors trying to leave the country, the two impress their boss Frank. Remy's wife Carol has had enough of the job, which she considers a bad influence on their son Peter, and after Remy lets Jake carry out a repossession during the family barbecue, she leaves with the boy. Remy intends to move to the sales department, but Jake arranges one final job: taking the heart of a musician Remy admires. A defibrillator malfunctions during the job and injures Remy, who wakes in need of an artificial heart and in debt to The Union.
