Plot summary
Leah Caldwell produces a morning show in New York City and is competing to become its executive leader, a post no woman has held. Her former partner, Jarrett Roy, arrives at the network as her direct rival for the job. Jarrett says he has changed since their breakup, crediting principles from the self-help book Relationship Goals by Michael Todd. Leah keeps her attention on her career and is at first unwilling to revisit what they had. Sharing a workplace, the two find old personal and professional conflicts resurfacing, and Leah weighs whether the promotion and a renewed relationship can coexist.
