Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Red Silk (2025)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Red Silk draws on a real event: the 6th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, held in the Moscow region in 1928, whose delegates crossed Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway at great risk, hunted by Kuomintang agents and several foreign intelligence services, escorted by Comintern members including the young translator Artyom Svetlov.
- Zheng Hanyi, who plays the courier Wang Lin, makes her cinema debut in Red Silk; the filmmakers found her after a long casting search at a St Petersburg theater institute, where she had enrolled four years earlier and learned Russian well.
