Plot summary
In 1893 Marie Curie is often refused research funding because of her attitude, which she shares with Pierre Curie. Their clashes with academic authorities lead them to work in the same laboratory. Before Marie discovers polonium and radium, she and Pierre fall in love, marry, and have two children. Marie soon reports the discovery of radioactivity, which revolutionizes physics and chemistry. Radium quickly appears in a range of commercial products.
