Plot summary
Three humanoid rabbits live within a single living room while rain falls on the nameless city outside. Jack wears a dark suit, Suzie a pink dressing gown and Jane a pink dress. They come in, go out and sit, and the lines they exchange do not follow one another, though they seem to belong to a related matter. An unseen audience whoops and applauds whenever a rabbit enters, and the rabbits stay serious through it. In some episodes a burning hole opens in the wall, and a disfigured face in red light, projected on the back wall, speaks in a deep voice. One rabbit, in some episodes, sings or recites alone.

- A clip from Rabbits, chosen because it was supposed to make participants feel unpleasantly uncomfortable, was used as a stimulus in a psychological experiment on the effects of acetaminophen on existential crisis, published in a paper entitled "The Common Pain of Surrealism and Death".
- David Lynch reused some of the Rabbits footage and the Rabbits set in his film Inland Empire (2006), where excerpts of the series appear and the Rabbits are associated with three mysterious Polish characters who live in a house in the woods.
- David Lynch filmed Rabbits on a set built in the garden of his own house in the Hollywood Hills, shooting at night in order to control the lighting.
