Plot summary
A widower from a Brahmin community, Kuttan is a senior police officer who shares a luxury flat with his son, Kichu. Hot-tempered and guarded, he keeps a small circle of friends and pulls away from anyone who irritates or provokes him, especially young women and girls, while his overprotective, controlling ways weigh on Kichu. He comes to believe that someone wants him dead and suspects everyone outside the few he trusts. His unease sharpens when his sister Bharati moves into a nearby flat with her husband Kuttappan, a theatre artist from an oppressed caste whom she married against the family's wishes.
