Plot summary
Saba Mariyam, a professor at Central University in Ramanagaram, dies in suspicious circumstances, and student activist Gouri Lakshmi leads protests that grow into nationwide outrage over police brutality after the state police crack down on the demonstrators. Facing public pressure, the Karnataka government puts ACP Sajjan Kumar in charge of the murder investigation. His inquiry leads him to four people accused of cornering Saba and burning her alive, and he arrests them. Before the four can be brought to court, senior police officials take the case away from Sajjan, and the suspects' political connections raise the prospect that they will avoid punishment.
