Plot summary
A new job at a pet invention company brings Robert, a gifted inventor, to a new neighborhood just before Christmas, with his teenage daughter Jenna and their border collie Charlie. He meets Holly, the neighbor next door, and her border collie Gidget. Victor, Robert's neighbor and the project manager, is conniving and obnoxious, and his bulldog Vinnie P and chihuahua José keep close to him. When the company's ski trip takes the families away, Victor hires two inept thieves, Benny and Lenny, to make off with Robert's latest invention. The neighborhood's dogs, Charlie and Gidget among them, have plans of their own to stop the would-be robbers.
