Plot summary
The region was quarantined years ago after a crash between a nuclear waste transport and a prison bus spilled volatile waste. In the settlement of Samurai Town, the Governor blends Japanese and Old West customs and keeps a harem of adopted granddaughters; beyond the town lies the Ghostland, a wasteland of irradiated outcasts. Hero, a criminal imprisoned over a botched bank robbery, is released by the Governor and sent to find Bernice, a granddaughter who fled into the Ghostland with her friends Stella and Nanci. The Governor seals Hero into a bodysuit carrying explosive charges that will fire if he mistreats Bernice, if the suit is tampered with, or if she is not brought back within five days.
