Plot summary
During World War II in the Pacific, a Japanese prison ship carrying Allied prisoners is sunk by an Allied submarine. Japanese soldier Saito, accused of treason, and British prisoner Bronson are chained together when they wash ashore on a deserted island. The two men immediately fight, but they soon realize they are not alone: a deadly creature, a Malay mythological being called Orang Ikan, is watching them from the water. After breaking their chains, they hunt for crabs. Two Japanese soldiers arrive and question Saito, but the creature remains a threat. Forced to cooperate, Saito and Bronson must overcome their mutual hostility to survive on the island while the creature stalks them.
