Plot summary
In a comic tale of American dreams and delusions, a sweet-natured man has an idea he wants to create and market: a belt powered by a rocket. He recruits his best friend and an engineer to help him build it. The engineer has an attitude problem and lost his job. The three would-be entrepreneurs set out to invent the belt together, and the man behind the idea never loses his confidence that it will work. Problems come up along the way, among them the difficulty of finding investors. He and the engineer disagree with each other, and the mismatched personalities of the partners clash.
