Wayne is a Christmas elf in Prep & Landing, the outfit Santa sends ahead to make sure each house is ready for him. He wants the director of the naughty list job, but it goes to Peterson, who once trained under him. Magee, who runs Santa's flight from the North Pole command center, introduces Wayne to Lanny, a rookie fresh out of training who counts himself Wayne's biggest fan. Lanny is eager about everything the work involves. Bitter, Wayne eases off during the Christmas Eve mission and leaves the preparations to Lanny, at the house of a boy named Timmy Terwelp.
