Plot summary
Ayanna is a seventeen-year-old poet in Harlem. She has one summer left at home before she starts college. On a summer night she meets Isaiah, a music producer who recently arrived in the city. Both of them are artists, and it is not long before they are drawn into a summer romance. The Harlem around her is changing while she gets ready to leave.
