Persecuted (2014) on Netflix

Plot summary

John Luther, a reformed drug addict who became America's leading evangelist, refuses to back Senator Donald Harrison's Faith and Fairness Act, which would bar Christians from stating that their faith holds the whole or only truth. To pass the bill, Harrison needs Luther discredited. Luther's own supporters help abduct him, and he is framed for the murder and rape of a teenage girl, an act that unleashes an unprecedented era of persecution. Allowed to go free on personal recognizance, Luther slips away from the police watching him and goes looking for the truth. A team of ex-military operatives wages a relentless campaign to destroy the evidence, and Luther vows to expose everyone involved in the girl's death.
