Plot summary
Michael Lynch has two wives, Christine and Lisa, who are sisters, along with many children, and he is among Dublin's most notorious criminals. Between jobs he spends time with his family, and when he plans a robbery with his gang he cares as much about the showmanship as about the money, which makes him an iconic figure to the public. That popularity is an embarrassment to the Gardaí, and Noel Quigley in particular is obsessed with catching him. A daring theft of paintings from a Dublin gallery leaves the authorities without him. His activities also draw the anger of the IRA.
