Plot summary
Sampson Mitchell has just finished high school and fills his last summer days thinking about the life he is about to leave. People around him tell him he should be excited about college, and he is not. He would rather not go carrying regret, so he works up a list of things to do before he leaves, taking his last issue of the school newspaper as the starting point. Then Alexa Newport turns up, someone he once had feelings for, and those feelings return. Sampson asks her out, hoping to keep a hold on what he had before he goes.
