Plot summary
On February 25, 1964, four men come together at the Hampton House in Miami after Cassius Clay has upset Sonny Liston to win the heavyweight championship. Malcolm X is the host, and he has told Clay, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke to expect no party; he wants them to weigh what they have achieved. Tension rises between Malcolm and Cooke, who sings for white audiences and defends the money and independence such success brings black artists. Malcolm calls this disloyalty to the struggle. Clay says he means to join the Nation of Islam and to say so in public. Brown talks about leaving football for acting.
