Plot summary
Sonny Jordan has a troubled past and drifts between towns in search of work. In a back alley he steps in when a mugger attacks George Good, and saves his life. George offers him a place to stay and work as a mechanic on the farm in the Louisiana Bayou. Sonny settles in and helps with the work around the property. Then he meets Larissa, George's wife, a woman with a mysterious past, and the two are drawn to each other.
