Plot summary
Nanette is the niece of Jimmy Smith, a millionaire whose habit of promising careers to beautiful women keeps landing him in awkward situations. Her aunt Susan, Jimmy's wife, is the person Nanette wants to protect, so she sets about untangling her uncle from each new entanglement he creates. To untangle him from one of them, Nanette asks William Trainor, a musical comedy producer, for help, and he falls for her. Tom Gillespie, a young artist, is asked in the same way and falls for her too. Jimmy's promises keep multiplying, and Nanette's romances with William and Tom run into trouble.
