Plot summary
Gracie, a young timber wolf, lives with her pack at Colepepper Zoo in Vancouver, where her paranoid grandmother Gramma Abigale trains the wolves for disasters and warns the pack against trusting other animals. One night a meteor crashes into the Kuddle Korner petting zoo, and a pink rabbit there eats it and is infected. Gracie leaves her wrecked enclosure to look into the crash and meets Dan, a gruff mountain lion newly arrived at the zoo who attacks her. A zookeeper finds them, darts them both, and shuts them in the veterinary station until morning. The rabbit emerges from a pod as Bunny Zero, a mutant whose infection spreads through the zoo. Gracie, Dan and four other survivors, Xavier, Felix, Frida and Ash, flee into the utility tunnels when Fred, an infected gorilla, attacks them.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Clive Barker's original idea, dating to spring 2014, was a graphic novel for adults about a child trapped in a zoo during a zombie outbreak; when Copperheart Entertainment shifted it to an animated feature, the story changed to a wolf and a mountain lion teaming up against a virus that turns zoo animals into gummi mutants.
- Only some of the animals were given a realistic fur texture, a choice made to show the difference between the mutant and normal characters and to cut costs, while the film's low-budget horror look was achieved with lighting and fog.
