Plot summary
Jason Rogers, Duncan Wheeler and Charlie Day have acted as detectives since childhood, solving local cases like missing cats and lost baseballs. Now about to graduate from high school, the three remain as naive as ever, still chasing children's infractions while their parents wonder when they will grow up. When a girl named Brianna hires them to find out why her parents were killed, they see a chance to prove they are real detectives. Duncan and Charlie hesitate, but Jason argues that solving the case will earn the town's respect. Brianna's older sister Kelly tells them to let the police handle it. They ignore her and take the case anyway.
