Plot summary
In the jungles of India, the tiger Shere Khan kills a human family. The panther Bagheera finds a surviving infant and brings him to the wolves Nisha and Vihaan. When the man-cub is presented to the wolf council, Bagheera presses the bear Baloo into serving as a guardian. Shere Khan arrives to kill the boy, but Akela declares him under the wolves' protection and warns that he will return when Akela misses his prey. Mowgli grows up with the pack, and years later encounters Shere Khan, who has been killing the village's cattle. Mowgli falls into a tiger trap and is saved by Hathi, an elephant missing half a tusk. Bagheera urges Mowgli to seek safety in the human village, but Mowgli wants to complete the Running to earn his place among the wolves.
