Plot summary
Max Doyle does magic, and his girlfriend Cammie dances on a school crew that needs money to compete. To raise it, Max holds a public seance with his ghost friends Nicky and Tara, who supply the real spectral thrills. The audience, Cammie among them, takes the whole show for stage trickery, and she ends the relationship. Nicky and Tara have also tired of being treated more as pets than as friends, so Max asks a famed ghost hunter filming a television episode in town for help with the spirits. Phears, a ghoul, needs one enchanted crystal to free an army of evil spirits.
