Plot summary
Erin and Cal are estranged half-siblings in their twenties who come back to the Montana ranch they once called home. Their father lies in a coma on life support and is not expected to recover. Valentina, the housekeeper and a family friend, has been holding the place together, and Ace, a Kenyan immigrant nurse, provides his care. Cal's mother died two years ago, and Erin's mother died in childbirth. Cal starts selling off and donating the ranch's assets. Erin remains angry about the past abuse and plans to bring the family's elderly horse, Mr. T, to her home in New York's Hudson Valley.
