Plot summary
Ramses de Nile asks his daughters to join him at a gala in Boo York, where the Comet Crystal is shown and a comet from outer space is due to arrive. Cleo de Nile takes her boyfriend Deuce and schoolmates Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculaura, Operetta and Catty Noir, who is having trouble writing a new song. In the city the group meets Luna Mothews, a performer hoping for a break, Elle Eedee, a robotic DJ, and the ballerina Mouscedes King, and crosses paths with Toralei, a guest of Cleo's sister Nefera. Nefera and Ramses have their own plan: to pair Cleo with Seth Ptolemy, son of the gala's patron, because a promise made while the comet passes cannot be broken.
