Plot summary
Barbie accepts an invitation from Princess Amelia and travels to the Kingdom of Floravia. There, Amelia's daily life is under the strict control of her royal advisor, Alfonso. Amelia has seen that she and Barbie look almost identical, and she proposes that the two of them trade places for one week, so that she can have a week of freedom before her coronation. Barbie agrees, and Amelia goes off to enjoy that time.

- It was the first film adaptation of the TV series Barbie: Dreamhouse Adventures; Mattel had marketed the earlier Barbie Dolphin Magic as that show's "spiritual" pilot.
