Plot summary

In 2003, the reporters Erin and Sarah Lynch arrive in Tokyo to document the unusual seismic disturbances picked up around the city. The tremors are first taken for aftershocks of a massive earthquake on the Kanto Fault two years earlier, which caused hundreds of thousands of casualties and hundreds of billions of dollars in damage, though a closer reading of the evidence points elsewhere. Erin and Sarah rent a hotel room and begin filming. The next day, Sarah films Erin interviewing the global warming minister, and an earthquake strikes during the interview. As the days pass, Tokyo suffers abnormal earth tremors.
