Plot summary
Mike Stevens, a US Marine sniper, and his spotter Tommy Madison are in North Africa on a secret mission: kill a terrorist leader at a Bedouin wedding. Mike hesitates when the target's son steps into the way, and glare off the sniper scope reveals their position. The enemy attacks. A sandstorm forces the insurgents to retreat and leaves the two Marines behind. They are told to walk to a village, where they will be picked up once the storm passes. Mike hears a click under his boot and holds still.

- Director Fabio Guaglione was at first against casting Armie Hammer in Mine, telling producer Peter Safran that "if [Armie Hammer] stars, the movie's dead", and was only won over when Safran cited Hammer's work with David Fincher, Clint Eastwood and Guy Ritchie.
- For the role of US Marine Tommy Madison, directors Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro considered over 50 American actors, among them Rami Malek, Adam Brody and Chris Zylka, before choosing British actor Tom Cullen.
