Clint Dyer

Clint Dyer is an English actor, director and playwright from Upton Park, East London, born in 1968. He began acting at 14 in a youth theater in Stratford East and later trained at the East 15 Acting School. His first major stage part came in 1990 in Hanging the President, and Mike Leigh's It's a Great Big Shame followed in 1993. He played Delroy in a 2000 revival of Sus and in its 2010 film adaptation, which brought him a Screen Nation award in 2011 for best male performance in a film. As a director, he debuted with The Big Life, which transferred to the Apollo Theatre in 2005 and made him the first Black British person to direct a musical in the West End. He co-wrote the Death of England trilogy with Roy Williams, directed Othello in 2022, and served as the National Theatre's Deputy Artistic Director from 2021 to 2025.
