Plot summary
Metallica plays a single night at a stadium in Vancouver, and Trip works it as a roadie, skating through the parking lot and the dressing-room halls and handing a brown paper bag to his supervisor, who tells him to stay nearby. When his manager asks for fuel to be taken to a stranded truck holding something important, Trip swallows a capsule and drives off through the empty streets. Looking at his map, he runs a red light; another car hits the van and flips it. On foot with a gas can, a map and a doll that has a noose around its neck, he passes an officer's body pulled by a police horse, people who run by him, and a burning cruiser, and walks out between a crowd of rioters and riot police.
