Plot summary
A diamond mining operation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo disturbs a giant prehistoric crocodile, and a megalodon that survived an earlier encounter rises in the Atlantic to sink the warship USS Gibson. Terry McCormick, who was testing a sonic shark repellent aboard, is the only survivor and believes his device drew the creature in. NOAA agent Hutchinson questions him, and he offers his invention to the hunt. A hunter named Nigel Putnam, hired by the wealthy Legatt, tranquilizes the crocodile and has it loaded onto a cargo ship, which also carries the animal's eggs toward Florida. When the megalodon attacks that ship, the crocodile wakes. Aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington, Admiral Calvin gives McCormick, Hutchinson and Putnam the job of capturing one of the eggs.
