Plot summary
Hana is a British aid worker who has been treating victims of the Syrian war, and the work has overwhelmed her. She travels to Egypt alone and returns to Luxor, the ancient city on the Nile. There she runs into Sultan, a talented archaeologist and a former lover of hers. The familiar place haunts her as she wanders it, and she is torn between the choices of her past and an uncertain present.
