Plot summary
Michael Chapman, once a boy on the sitcom Life With Mikey, cannot build on that early success as an adult. He and his brother Ed run Chapman & Chapman, an agency for young performers that is short on work. Michael, who does not take the business seriously, argues often with their biggest client, the commercial actor Barry Corman. One day a girl named Angie Vega steals his wallet on the street. He chases her, she gets away, and when someone catches her lifting a second wallet she puts on a performance to talk her way clear. Michael joins the act, then offers to represent her. She returns his wallet and accepts, and he talks his way into a callback for a Sunburst Cookies commercial so she can audition.
