Plot summary
A German expedition in the African jungle goes wrong for Thoren, whom the native Botos capture and are about to kill. A long-haired wild woman talks the warriors into releasing him, and the tribe that adores her as a goddess lets her have her way. Fascinated, Thoren recruits Kersten and Keller to take her captive. Word of the wild woman reaches Hamburg, where shipping tycoon Theo Amelongen wonders whether she could be Liane, his granddaughter, missing since the ship carrying her parents went down eighteen years ago. He sails for Africa, and Thoren brings the woman aboard with him, along with the biologist Jacqueline. Liane's tribesman friend Tanga stows away on the ship with her pet lion, Simba.
