Plot summary
Bob Revere is a decorated combat veteran who serves as mayor and pharmacist in Mount Columbus, a small town in the Rocky Mountains. His son Thomas was killed in the war, and Bob has carried that loss for years. Fourteen years later, his grandson Christian Revere, now a teenager, comes back to town with his mother during the holiday season. Christian and his grandfather have drifted apart, each grieving Thomas in his own way. Around the time, the town's Christmas celebration is removed, and Bob becomes convinced that the freedoms he values are being taken away one by one. With the help of children and other residents, he begins a campaign to bring Christmas back to Mount Columbus and to make a stand for freedom of expression.
