Plot summary
Still haunted by nightmares of a train, MMA fighter Kurt Sloane is told by two U.S. Marshals that he must return to Thailand over Tong Po's death, and he is tasered. He wakes in a Bangkok prison, where Thomas Moore, who runs the country's underground fights, wants him to take on the new champion, Mongkut, a 6-foot-8, 400-pound fighter, offering one million dollars and his freedom. Kurt refuses. Crawford, once Tong Po's right-hand man, taunts him, other prisoners threaten him, and guards whip him at night. In the prison he meets Briggs, an American boxer, and learns that his old Muay Thai teacher, Durand, blinded now, is training inmates.
