Plot summary
At The Brick, the outdoor spot where her classmates gather, Natalie has her senior year mapped out: grades, tennis, and a scholarship to Duke. There she meets Rafael, a transfer student. In chemistry she is paired with Keith, who shrugs at school and rules alike. When she asks his help with a lab report, he drives her off campus and into an office building they are not supposed to enter. He starts inviting her out on what he insists are non-dates, and she keeps accepting. Rafael, now her boyfriend, grows jealous. The more Natalie sees of Keith, the more she senses he is holding something back.
