Plot summary

On a parallel Earth, the Crime Syndicate, a criminal version of the Justice League, holds power. A heroic Lex Luthor from that world takes the Quantum Trigger from the Syndicate's base and crosses into the Justice League's dimension. Held in a prison there, he is brought to the Watchtower, where Superman confirms his reversed organs mark him as a visitor from a parallel Earth. Luthor asks the League to help free his world. Batman stays behind while the rest cross over and strike Syndicate targets. President Slade Wilson tells them that meeting the Syndicate's demands is what keeps millions of people alive.

The film began as Justice League: Worlds Collide, a direct-to-video DC Animated Universe feature that Bruce Timm announced in 2004 to bridge the series Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, and one of its goals was explaining how Wonder Woman acquired her Invisible Jet.
The abandoned Worlds Collide was finally rewritten by Dwayne McDuffie for the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line as Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, with all its connections to the animated series removed.
