Plot summary
Guy Johnson is a private detective hired to keep an eye on Willie Heyward, a rich man who drinks too much. Heyward's former girlfriend, Dolores Gonzalez, makes a public scene about their relationship, and he goes to her apartment without knowing it is a setup. A man is holding Dolores at gunpoint; when Heyward walks in, the man kills her and Heyward is blamed. The single clue is half a dime in a piece of jewelry Dolores tore from her attacker. Guy hides his client to hunt the real killer, but the police seize them both.
