Plot summary
Abbie and Sam are childhood best friends who grew up together and are now engaged to be married. Their plans are upended when Abbie is told she has terminal cancer. Unsure how much time she has left, she turns her attention to Sam's future and begins looking for a new partner who could take care of him, a task made harder by the fact that Sam knows nothing about dating. While she weighs who might suit him, Abbie also spends time with other patients she meets, three of them in particular, who share a habit of living fully while they are dying.
