Plot summary
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart leaves Vienna for Prague in 1787, in a fictional episode of his life. His friend Josefa Duchek is his host in Prague. Mozart begins a forbidden love affair with the young soprano Zuzana Luptak, whose parents are Herr and Frau Luptak. That affair, and the danger and heartbreak around it, shape the music Mozart goes on to write, the opera Don Giovanni.
